A Conservative MP (Jacques Gourde) supposedly broke the law. An investigation, first revealed in the Globe and Mail, was confirmed by Gourd when all week federal officials were insisting that a certain law prevented them from confirming or denying anything. Gourde stated “ As it stands, Public Works and Government Services Canada is aware of these investigations, but I cannot provide further comment”.
Even though Gourde did not provide details about the investigation his answer contradicted what the federal officials had been saying all along such as “I can’t even confirm or deny that there is an investigation, or even discuss under what law I’m not allowed to talk” – an official’s statement to the Globe and Mail.
