Suaad Hagi Mohamud, a Torontonian who had traveled to Africa, had her passport voided and she was turned over the Kenyan authorities by Canadian consular officials while trying to fly home from Kenya. She spent almost three months trying to prove who she was until finally a DNA test proved her identity and she was allowed back. Now she wants to be compensated by the government for her legal fees.
