New spending rules for municipal elections
During the next municipal election, there will be several new rules. The main change is the amount that can be donated to a poltical party. The new limit will be $5 000 which there was previously no limit. Toronto is trying to set a ban for any corporations to donate money with this limit being a start. It is stated this ban is needed because of the influence these donations can have on political parties.
