Reconciliation between Old and New Conservative Parties a Failure?

Former PM Brian Mulroney took the opportunity to pay tribute to over a dozen politicians at a Montreal party held in honour of the 25th anniversary of the election of his first government. Conspicuously absent from the list of those acknowledged? Current Conservative PM Stephen Harper. It appears that the rift between the old and new Conservative parties, caused in part by a ban Harper placed on his ministers, forbidding them from speaking to Mulroney for the duration of the Oliphant inquiry has yet to be healed. Despite Mulroney's warm welcome to Harper's wife and the presence of twenty of Harper's own ministers at the gathering, it seems that all has not been forgiven.
